ABOUT PUDDLEDUCK
Puddleduck Playcentre provides the Somerset and surrounding areas with playgroup 2 days per week, where parents/carers are required to supervise, and supervised sessions for 3-5 year olds, 3 mornings per week. Our aim is to provide your child with a variety of fun and enjoyable play experiences. These experiences will allow the individual child to develop their social, emotional, physical, language, creative and cognitive (thinking) skills. We aim to create a secure environment, where children can grow and develop whilst feeling happy and respected as individuals. We see parental involvement as crucial to our service. As such we endeavor to foster an atmosphere where parents/carers feel welcome to participate in all aspects of the centre. Why don't you and your children drop in one Monday or Tuesday morning for a play, coffee and a chat. We would love to meet you! The Puddleduck Organisation Somerset Puddleduck Playcentre Inc (ABN 266 367 755 45) has been successfully managed by a volunteer parent committee for over 30 years. Our playcentre is unique to the Burnie Wynyard area; the next closest playcentres are at Penguin and Smithton. Puddleduck is affiliated with Play Group Tas Inc who coordinate services including insurance, resources, advice and publicity for our centre. We have a Centre Based Child Care Licence issued by the Tasmanian Department of Education. Our experienced staff are fully qualified, with approved certificates in Childcare and First Aid, they also have up to date Safety Screen Certificates from the Department of Education. Puddleduck is situated at 4 George Street in Somerset. The premises, formerly a residence, have undergone numerous modifications internally and externally to achieve a practical but home like environment. We have an art room, construction room, home room, bathroom, main room, covered deck, kitchen and toilets. Outside we have a large grassed yard, a covered sandpit, a permanent shade structure, a cubby and a large new climbing frame. The building is owned by the Waratah-Wynyard council but it is generously leased to Puddleduck for a small fee. Email: |
